What is the best way to convert my vinyl collection to digital?
I have $200 to spend and want to get the highest quality mp3s. I imagine I'd need a USB preamp, but what is the best to get for a pc? And what works with my budget?
I'm a digital DJ so I'd prefer a direct-Drive Turntable to belt-driven.
Any help you can provide is great! Thanks.
There are probably several less expensive options, but for a simple option I know there is a unit that has a turntable on top and a CD slot underneath, and will record your vinyl (and I think cassette tapes too) onto CDs. Unfortunately I don't remember whether I saw it in a "Sharper Image" catalog or in one of those "on-board flight sales" magazines during a flight. I think the price was around $200, but maybe more.
