Where can I find the alignment (and other) specifications for 1957 Ford Fairlane (Custom Fordor)?
I need specifications 1957 Ford Fairlane alignment for (technically, it is a custom Fordor not a Fairlane, but basically the same car stripped of ornaments and inside, or so I have to say). Need Caster settings, camber and toe. Please source your information, if possible, because I'm desperate for a good source of technical information on this vehicle. I bought a CD on eBay claiming to be a copy Scanned original Service Manual, but it was just a list of chunks and book exploded diagrams. Do not include technical specifications. I looked for books such as spare parts or Chilton Haynes, but either do not go back that far or places that control only new vehicles to keep books. Can you recommend something better? Thank you!
Here are the specs of the file: Camber: 1.2 ° + / - 1 / 2 Caster No: 0 ° + / - 1 / 2 toe-in: 1 / 8 "- 3 / 16" This is what I would do in a car with modified camber direction: 0 º to -1 / 2 º Caster: As much as you can get in the passenger side and 1 / 4 degrees less than the driver's side. Hopefully this does not fit +1-1/2 - 2nd. More launcher would be a direction, but you can not be achieved without arms control is more tubular wheels built in. The reason for the additional wheel of 1 / 4 th in the passenger side is this will help track car on the track straight crowned. Some recommend a tilt split instead of a division the launcher. All I can say is that I always used to divide launcher and it works. Convergence: 1 / 16 "- 1 / 8". Tires radial pinch a little less than the originals.
