Works to replace the foam surrounding the conclusion of the cone speaker changes the sound?

After replacing the President of foam a kit with foam surround sound will be as good as a new president, or that degrade the sound? I have old audiophile speakers that were expensive when they are new.

I replaced my foam surrounds on my 2 woofer speakers Infinity reference and I think the bass is really strong. I had to replace both the envelope because of mosses in two smaller cracks in what had been too soft and it was really caused some distortion. I guess the cracks yours even if they are contemplating replacing and I say it's worth. The other option is equivalent the woofers manufacturer of original equipment and replacement woofer / s as you need. My suggestion is to try to replace the foam as I listen and if you do not like it is time to replace the woofers. I have other friends audiophile who replaced the surrounds foam and liked the results.
