Any reflection on the types of sport two different address (on and off road) bike?

I'll buy a bike and I'm leaning to a double-flow type (like a Honda XR600L, for example) which is actually a dirt bike with plates and lights. Is there anyone out there have any experience or those input on how these bikes perform on the road? I do not want or expect that the case for a balance sheet and off-road motorcycles nearly as fast or smooth as the broker or cruise counterparts, but at least we want to be sure. Does anyone know if they run with decent tires and how Travel on wet roads or in bad weather? Comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
