Why radio stations low power dramatically in the fall of night?

My favorite radio station is a station All companies speak out is 50,000 watts during the day but when night comes, and down to 111 (according to its website) and my tubes weak radio reception.

I am not sure, because the change you mention is great, but why in May are: the scope of a radio station is much greater at night because the ionosphere (the upper atmosphere of Earth) is a reflection of radio waves in the night. This means that you can achieve the same range with far less power, but that listeners located near the train station (within say 50 to 100 km) in May has been a decrease in signal strength.
