Router help please (:?

If I bought this .. "Dynex 4-port 10/100 Mbps DX-E402 Wired Router NIB" would able to connect two computers with it?? .. I think it's a plug and play design that does not need to install any CD, because I want to use a network to connect my laptop (which has no disk drive) and my desktop .. I also read somewhere that should create a network .. but this was not explained how .. help with that too, please. What a wire crossover? The Ethernet cable? Because I have two separate for each team is so bad ..?

Yes, it should work. Connect the WAN (aka Internet) port to cable modem or DSL router, then the teams to the LAN ports on the router. Then, go into the configuration settings (usually accessed by going to http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1) and make sure DHCP and NAT are enabled on the LAN, and make sure that the configuration of the WAN side match your cable securities or DSL providers (ie, DHCP (if dynamic) IP address / Gateway / DNS (if static), and PPPoE (if required by the supplier).
