Electron Tubes Valves
Electron Tubes Valves
302 motor in e150 Ford Van towing trailer on freeway motor started to misfire and white smoke. Pulled plugs?
all good except for #8. Looked like something had hit electron. No water in oil, did not over heat. Motor starts and idals without any sounds but running on 7 cylenders. Oil seems to be blowing out of breather tube on valve cover.
It's possible that the insulator that protects the electrode on the plug has broken off.If this has embedded itself on the outer edge of the piston crown it could crush the ring land causing the ring to stick in the groove. This would cause excessive combustion blow by and increase crankcase pressure to the point where oil is forced out of the breather. You will probably notice the engine is fuming and you'll more than likely be blowing blue smoke. The damage to the plug could also be the result of foriegn material entering the combustion chamber via the induction system.
